ST Dana Atrium
for its design of the S.T. Dana Courtyard Atrium at the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment, sdi was honored with a National Merit Award from the American Institute of Steel Construction. The Gold Certified LEED project reclaimed an unused courtyard space for use as sunlit student offices and commons area. The innovative frame transferred an irregular column grid to a graceful steel lattice that minimized bearing on the 19th century masonry building.
